The research includes up to 5 samples studied with non-contact and non-destructive methods added with recommendations on the methodology of the required further analysis.
It includes the technological research using the following methods:
UV (long-wave UV radiation that causes fluorescence and enhances the colour of the external pigments). It is used for the overall assessment of the condition of the painting. Using this method, it is possible to observe the luminescence of the pigments that contributes to their identification as well as the detection of the restoration interventions.
IR reflectography (It is used for determining the underlying layers. It allows to identify hidden signatures and images, a preliminary drawing, as well as the specific features the author's technique; it also allows to judge on the support material, pigments, changes and damages of the painting);
XFA - X-ray fluorescence analysis (for determining the inorganic pigments and paint fillers used).
Registration of the object (measurement, reading the signature, technique and support identification and other objective visual parameters).
Photo-fixation – general view, signature (ultra-close-up shooting), photo of the reverse side.
